I was asked shortly after becoming a Christian if I would be starting a blog (thank you JF!) and I chose not to at that time (I knew, and know next to nothing about blogs AND how could I possibly have anything to offer, being a new Christian???).  As I look back now, I know now that newly converted Christians are a refreshing inspiration to Christians that have been in the faith for a longer period.  I understand now why I was asked if I would start a blog.  As I sit at work, I don’t have a lot on my plate so thought today would be the day to start – it’s less than a year later (lol, at least I can say that).

This Christmas season has been filled with so much more wonder and thankfulness than any other Christmas in the past.  All of the Christmas carols have come alive, it’s like they are new songs I haven’t heard before and as I listen to them, they are filled with so much meaning I couldn’t have hoped to understand prior to becoming a Christian.  Some bring tears to my eyes as I listen to them – I get foggy when I sing them – so many new experiences.

I always thought I was a Christian since I grew up believing in God (I thought that the simple act of believing made me a Christian – I have come to know fully and completely that I couldn’t have been farther from the truth – I think that’s a topic for a later blog).

The other day, I was listening to the radio and they were talking about the colours of Christmas and that gold, green and red each have meanings.  When they came to red – I was on the edge of my seat – hoping someone would say “the blood of Christ” – it never happened.  Thinking back, I wouldn’t have known just less than a year ago.  Things have changed a lot over the past year – I would never have thought my life would change so drastically for the better.

It’s an exciting journey, being in love and knowing that the love I give will be returned tenfold and will never end.  That’s the love God has for us, even though we’re not deserving.  That’s just simply incredible.
